The Randstad-VSO partnership celebrates its 10th anniversary by featuring the VSO logo on the Williams Martini Racing car instead of the Randstad logo, at the Silverstone race on July 6, 2014. Randstad and VSO have been working together since 2004 to effectively recruit volunteers to help fight poverty around the world.
Jacques van den Broek, Randstad’s CEO: “The VSO-Randstad partnership is very valuable to us, because shaping the world of work does not end at country borders. It is a great incentive for our employees to be able to go on a VSO placement, share their knowledge with local communities, and bring back a wealth of learnings and insights. Supporting VSO's recruitment processes to enable them to place more professionals as volunteers wherever they are needed, is very rewarding.”
VSO is targeting youth volunteers from the VSO ICS youth program for this year’s Silverstone race. One returned volunteer is being offered the chance to spend one week as an intern with Williams F1 and another 9 young volunteers will be guided by Randstad UK into today’s challenging labor market after their placement overseas.
Just like the Williams Martini Racing Team, Randstad and VSO focus on team performance and together celebrate many achievements. In the 10-year partnership with VSO, over 150 Randstad employees have volunteered in countries like Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh and Tanzania. Randstad has helped VSO improve the “Volunteer Journey” (VSO’s global recruitment & placement processes and systems). Randstad has also offered expertise in recruitment and marketing around several VSO projects.
“Ten years in a partnership with one organization is a testimony to the value we both get from working together to create lasting change”, says Michael Mapstone, Head of Corporate Partnership Development at VSO. “The input from Randstad into VSO’s processes has been invaluable and we have placed their staff on some really interesting projects overseas. Volunteers make a huge difference to the communities in which they live so it seems fitting to mark this anniversary in a very special way with young volunteers at the Silverstone Grand Prix.”
Claire Williams, Deputy Team Principle: “Randstad, a long-term partner of Williams Martini Racing, has featured the Randstad logo on the Williams Martini Racing car since 2006. To mark the 10-year anniversary of Randstad and VSO, it will be replaced by the VSO logo on the air box of the car. We are honored to support the Randstad-VSO partnership during the British Grand Prix and are looking forward to help a young volunteer further develop his skills as an intern with the Williams Martini Racing Team.”
