about this template.
Applying for professional employment is a daunting task for anyone, particularly students. You may feel that your lack of experience will hold you back from even entry level jobs. Fortunately, there are skills and achievements from both your academic and personal life that you can draw upon to utilise in your job application.
Don’t get hung up on your lack of experience. It’s likely many candidates are in the same situation as you, so instead focus on valuable skills and impressive achievements from your GCSE’s and A-Levels to your University exam predictions. If you’re taking modules that are particularly relevant to the position that you’re applying for, make sure you emphasise these.
Think about any participation that you may have had in community programmes, sports teams or charity work and what skills you’ve picked up that can be transferred to the working world. Also include work experience, no matter how short, such as an internship or work placement.
Finally, your hobbies count to! This is a great way to give recruiters a sense of your personality, something that's completely unique to you. Let your character shine through and it may make you stand out above other applicants that have more direct experience.
