ESOL services
We understand the challenges faced by unaccompanied asylum seeker children (UASC) who may have gone through traumatic experiences. We believe in providing a stable and consistent environment to help them integrate successfully into their new homes and communities.
supporting UASC with informal English and upskilling sessions.
Our ambition is to help the young person grow in confidence and fully integrate within their home, local and school communities. We can help achieve this by engaging with them to rapidly improve their English knowledge.
Very often or frequently a UASC has been unable to access education in their country of origin or at best they have missed out on education for prolonged periods of time due to severe unrest in their home country.
Engaging in English education can over time empower UASC to aspire to positive outcomes educationally and improve their life and social prospects.

An overview of our services:
-
working with local authorities.
Randstad has the ability to respond swiftly to requests so Local Authorities can access ESOL support for UASC under their care. Face to face support can be requested where we have tutor availability or online support can be put in place within 24 hours of a completed referral form.
-
access to qualified tutors.
We have an extensive database of tutors who speak 32 different languages who are already supporting UASC with programmes of intervention. Though speaking the same language as the young person they work with is not essential for successful ESOL delivery, a same language tutor can be requested.
Our tutors are qualified to at least one of the following:
TEFL or TESOL, QTS, PGCE or experienced tutors with a minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering ESOL.
TrACE trained or minimum 2 years’ experience of working with this cohort of CYP.
