About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision school near Leyland. This full-time position involves working closely with pupils to provide in-class and 1:1 support, helping them to engage in their learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Assist in the classroom with activities, adapting tasks to support the child's learning.
• Foster a positive and nurturing environment, promoting confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with the teacher and other staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
• Support with personal care and behavioural needs when required.

Essential requirements

• Experience of working with young people.
• Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
• Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
• Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
• Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
• TA qualified.
