About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision school near Leyland. This full-time position involves working closely with pupils to provide in-class and 1:1 support, helping them to engage in their learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist in the classroom with activities, adapting tasks to support the child's learning.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment, promoting confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with the teacher and other staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
- Support with personal care and behavioural needs when required.
Essential requirements
- Experience of working with young people.
- Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
- Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
- Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
- Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
- TA qualified.
