This award winning and nationally recognised specialist school offers education for those 5- 19 years with a SEN or complex need. They currently support 90+ learners and are fully subscribed. This setting offers the opportunity to learn new skills, learn life skills, build confidence and achieve educational goals like GCSE, A Levels and vocational courses. This setting is currently recruiting for a 1:1 teaching assistant/trainee teacher to work 1:1 with their learners. This opportunity is a permanent role, needed on a full time basis to start ASAP (notice periods considered). In this role you can change lives and do so while working in a supportive and friendly environment with the best team possible. This role is a training position where you will start as a 1:1 TA and while working be given the training and qualification to become a SEN teacher (this is a 2 year programme) This role is needed Monday- Friday 8:45-4:45 pm and is a term time opportunity.

- Relevant childcare, teaching assistant or care experience (Must be able to provide references)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Experience supporting children or adults with SEN needs (desirable)
- Calm, nurturing and resilient individual
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
Responsibilities:
- Supporting learners on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis
- Supporting the educational and general well being of SEN learners
- Promoting, encouraging and creating a fun and engaging learning environment
- Completing the 2 year training programme to become a teacher
