Responsibilities
- Champion the well-being of adults with learning disabilities.
- Empower and support individuals, working in accordance with social work values.
- Manage a complex caseload, including undertaking needs-led assessments and outcome-focused support planning.
- Negotiate service provision with providers, ensuring the most appropriate and cost-effective care packages are in place.
- Produce, monitor, and review support plans.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments on all cases.
- Prepare high-quality assessment and support planning reports, as well as other reports as required.
- Liaise effectively and timeously with other agencies, including colleagues in Adult Wellbeing, Police, Health, and Voluntary Agencies, to both assess and meet client needs.
- Prepare Social Work Reports and other related reports.
- Advocate for clients' needs and rights.
- Undertake relevant training to maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- Qualification in Social Work
- Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration
- Adult Protection Training
- Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of relevant policies and legislation
