Applicants must be social work qualified and SWE registered social workers who have at least three years post qualification experience working in a social work statutory children and families fieldwork setting. You must have passed your ASYE fitness to practice.
You will be able to hold complex cases, have experience of court proceedings and adoption proceedings. You will be able to evidence that you can work autonomously on cases and be able to travel across the North of the City supporting the most vulnerable children and families and work to the job description. The average caseload is 22 children per social worker. You will be based at Sheffield (S4) and be able to work full time 37 hours per week. You will be office based and you will be required to be available from 8.45am-5.15pm Monday to Thursday with a 4.45pm finish on a Friday. Experience of Liquid Logic and Signs of Safety will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Complex Case Management:
- Handle a caseload of complex and high-risk cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, and implement appropriate support measures.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in emergency situations.
Supervision and Mentorship:
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and support to less experienced social workers and student interns.
- Offer expert advice and guidance on complex case issues and best practices.
- Facilitate reflective practice and continuous learning within the team.
Collaboration and Multi-Agency Work:
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including health, education, housing, and law enforcement agencies, to ensure a coordinated approach to service delivery.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and strategy discussions.
- Advocate for client's needs and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
Quality Assurance and Service Improvement:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practice standards within the team.
- Participate in audits, reviews, and evaluations to ensure high standards of service delivery.
- Identify areas for improvement and contribute to service development initiatives.
