SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Torton, Kidderminster
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent, Term time only
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £13.49 per hour (effective from 1st January 2025)
Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 (actual salary)
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join a new ASC/SEMH school in Torton, Kidderminster, for students aged 5-19. We are looking for passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to make a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support children with their learning and overall wellbeing.
Create a safe and caring environment where every child can thrive.
Assist with care needs and implement positive behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students.
Build supportive relationships with pupils to foster their independence and personal growth.
Work closely with teachers to deliver a challenging and engaging curriculum.
Does not offer visa sponsorship.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above.
Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
Desirable:
Working towards a Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools or equivalent.
Experience with SEN/SEMH/ASD in an educational setting.
