    We're seeking committed Children's Residential Practitioners to join a Children's Secure Service in the Angus area, supporting 12-18-year-olds with complex needs and challenging behaviours. In this role, you'll provide a safe, nurturing environment where young people can develop essential life skills, grow in confidence, and build resilience for a brighter future.

    Shift Patterns: 1 long day, 2 days off - 7am until 10pm (opportunity to pick up extra shifts over and above pattern)

    • £22 per hour umbrella

    Responsibilities:

    • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, supporting their emotional and social development.
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children and young people, adhering to safeguarding
    • procedures.
    • Implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
    • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, engaging with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders.
    • Support young people in education, activities, and daily routines.
    • Manage challenging behaviours using trauma-informed and de-escalation approaches.
    • Accurately record and report on young people's progress and incidents.

    To be considered for the Residential Practitioner role, ideally you will have:

    • 1+ years experience of working within a children's residential setting, youth offending, mental health or secure setting
    • HNC/SVQ/Youth Work qualification would be highly desirable
    • Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and behavioural management
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage challenging situations.
