    Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Wirral Council's Assessment and Intervention Team. This is a full time role, offering an amazing pay rate of £35 per hour.

    Responsibilities:

    • Respond to referrals from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
    • Undertake Child and Family Assessments under S17 and Child Protection enquiries under S47 of the Children Act 1989.
    • Analyse risk and protective factors to determine levels of need and appropriate intervention
    • Implement short-term interventions to support families and reduce risk.
    • Work with children, young people, and families to gather their views and ensure they are central to planning
    • Engage in direct work with children to understand their lived experiences.
    • Collaborate with partner agencies (e.g., schools, health, police) to gather information and coordinate support
    • Initiate legal processes including Public Law Outline (PLO) and court proceedings if needed.
    • Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, Child Protection Conferences, and Looked After Children Reviews.
    • Prepare clear, concise, and evidence-based reports for internal meetings and court.
    • Use frameworks such as Signs of Safety to structure assessments and safety planning.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records using the local authority's case management system.
    • Work within statutory timescales to complete assessments and manage transitions into longer-term teams if required.

    Requirements:

    • Social Work Degree or equivalent
    • Social Work England registration
    • Enhanced DBS
