I am looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work in the Derbyshire area. The perfect applicant will have knowledge and experience working on projects within wastewater or water treatment.
Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Derbyshire
Contract: Freelance
Rate: £400-£430 per day- PAYE

Duties will include:
- To work as directed by the Managing Q.S and Quantity Surveyor assisting with the control of costs, maximising value
- Ensure direct labour payments are monitored
- Accurately report withheld, disputed or disallowed costs
- Monitor insurance claims
- Monitor & expedite payments
- Ensure contract files and records are maintained
- Ensure final accounts are prepared accurately
- Ensure financial information for audits is collated
- To correlate and abstract information from contract records to enable valuation
- To assist in preparation of progress application
Skills Required:
- Working/studying towards a formal qualification in quantity surveying
- Possess a basic understanding of contractual, financial & quantity surveying skills.
- Strong as an Assist Quantity Surveyor
- Understanding of NEC Contracts
Skills Desirable:
- A knowledge of water/wastewater industry
- Experience within a construction background would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to work with colleagues whose work will be impacted by your activities.
