Job Description:
- Are you an experienced social worker with strong leadership skills and a passion for supporting children in care?
- Highly motivated and skilled Assistant Team Manager to join the Children Looked After (CLA) Team in Durham.
- In this role, you will assist in managing the team, overseeing complex cases, and ensuring the effective delivery of services to children in care.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Team Manager in leading and managing the CLA team, providing supervision, guidance, and support to team members.
- Conducting thorough assessments of children in care to identify risks, needs, and strengths.
- Developing and implementing care plans to support the safety, well-being, and development of children in care.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, external agencies, and community organizations to coordinate and improve care.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in line with legal and professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in a social work role, preferably within children and family services, with significant experience in a leadership or management position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social care and safeguarding.
