Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of the school site, including classrooms, offices, hallways, and outdoor areas.
- Conduct regular checks on the school's facilities, ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
- Manage and coordinate minor repairs and maintenance tasks, or liaise with external contractors for more complex work.
- Monitor and maintain school grounds, including cleaning, litter picking, and ensuring pathways and playgrounds are safe.
- Ensure the proper functioning of school equipment and facilities, such as heating, lighting, and plumbing.
- Lock and unlock the premises, ensuring security is maintained at all times.
- Set up and prepare the school site for events, assemblies, or meetings as required.
- Ensure the safe storage and handling of equipment, chemicals, and cleaning supplies.
- Liaise with staff and leadership to address any site-related concerns or issues promptly.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a site supervision or similar facilities management role, ideally within a school or educational environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Strong practical skills, with the ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with staff, students, and external contractors.
- A proactive and flexible attitude to work.
Requirements:
- An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this).
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Comprehensive CV covering the last 10 years of education/employment history with any breaks explained.
