Responsibilities:
- Market Research & Lead Generation:
* Conduct thorough market research to identify potential project opportunities and target clients within the North East region.
* Develop and execute strategies to generate leads and build a strong pipeline of potential projects.
* Attend industry events, networking functions, and conferences to build relationships and expand the company's network.
- Client Relationship Management:
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and requirements.
* Proactively engage with existing clients to identify potential future projects.
* Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
* Lead and manage the bidding process for new project opportunities, ensuring a comprehensive and competitive response.
* Coordinate with internal teams, including estimating, design, and construction, to develop winning bids.
* Prepare and submit detailed tenders and proposals, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.
* Engage in contract negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
* Collaborate with legal counsel to review and finalise contracts.
- Business Development Strategy:
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's overall business development strategy.
* Identify new market segments and growth opportunities for the company.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape.
Key Requirements:
* Proven track record in business development within the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor.
* Strong understanding of the construction industry, including project delivery models, tendering processes, and contract types.
* Extensive experience in identifying and securing new project opportunities, with a proven ability to close deals.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Strong negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients.
* Proficiency in using CRM systems and other business development tools.
