Randstad are recruiting for an experienced CAD technician for a short term 3 month contract with a global leader in engineering and technology. The role will be based in Chippenham Wiltshire, however hybrid working arrangements will be likely depending on project requirements.
This role has been classified as OUTSIDE IR35 and paid as LTD.
Key Accountabilities
- Create / Manage the Solidworks /PDM training documentation to improve modelling and drawing standards.
- Suggest and Implement Solidworks /PDM training
- Develop, Create and manage workflow procedures
- Support the Solidworks PDM (data management system) offering improvements to streamline processes.
- Introduce new Solidworks systems and software to improve efficiency in the R&D design and product support departments.
- Act as the key point of contact with the Solidworks support team and internal IT
- Research and propose improvements to the 3D systems within SMO RI UK
- Maintain awareness of new software packages and technologies
- Act as a gate keeper for the SMO RI UK PDM database - maintain, monitor and revision control all 3D CAD data
- Promote best modelling and draughting practices within the SRA design and product support engineering teams
- Support the development and management of any migration plans for SolidWorks within internal IT systems
Skills / Experience
- Experienced user of Solidworks, with a focused expertise in administration of PDM
- Experience of working in this role for atleast 5 years in both development and manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of NX CAD system and Teamcentre would be desirable
- Organised and structured approach to work
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Works well in a team
