Responsibilities
- Champion the well-being of children: Conduct thorough assessments and investigations to ensure the safety and well-being of children at risk.
- Develop tailored support plans: Create individualised care plans that provide the best possible support to children and their families, guiding them towards a brighter future.
- Collaborate with families and professionals: Work alongside families, carers, and other professionals to gather information, conduct risk assessments, and make informed decisions.
- Provide invaluable support: Offer guidance and resources to families, helping them navigate challenges and access vital support services.
- Monitor progress and ensure safety: Conduct home visits, assessments, and statutory reviews to monitor the child's well-being and ensure their safety.
- Work within a multi-agency network: Collaborate with multi-agency teams, including the police, health services, and education professionals, to protect and support vulnerable children and families.
- Advocate for children's best interests: Prepare comprehensive reports and represent the child's best interests in court, when necessary.
Requirements
- Qualification in Social Work
- Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration
- Child Protection Training
- Previous experience working as a Children and Families social worker
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of relevant policies and legislation
