We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to join the Support & Intervention Team in East Lothian. This role focuses on longer-term social work intervention, supporting children and families where legal orders are in place. You will be key in progressing care plans-whether safely rehabilitating children home or securing permanent placements through kinship, foster care, or adoption.
Your responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:
- Work with children on legal orders, supporting them to remain at home or in alternative care placements
- Progress rehabilitation plans or ensure permanence within kinship, foster care, or adoption settings
- Build positive, long-term relationships with children and families, providing meaningful interventions
- Collaborate with key professionals, including Children's Hearings and legal representatives, to safeguard and promote children's wellbeing
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
Requirements:
- Member of the PVG scheme
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent
- Member of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
- Experience working with children and families
