Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker to join the Children in Need (CiN) Team in Middlesbrough. In this role, you will work collaboratively with children, young people, families, and partner agencies to assess needs, develop care plans, and coordinate support services to improve outcomes for children and families in need of additional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the CiN Team, identifying risks, strengths, and support needs.
- Developing and implementing child-centered care plans in partnership with children, young people, families, and relevant professionals, focusing on achieving positive outcomes and promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
- Providing direct support and intervention to children and families, including practical and emotional support, advocacy, and signposting to relevant services and resources.
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies, including health professionals, schools, police, and voluntary organizations, to coordinate multi-agency support packages and facilitate timely interventions.
- Monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of care plans, making adjustments as necessary to ensure the ongoing safety and well-being of children and families.
- Participating in case conferences, child protection meetings, and court proceedings as required, representing the interests of children and providing evidence-based assessments and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Significant experience working within a child protection and safeguarding setting, preferably in a CiN Team or similar role.
- Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, young people, and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding, and the Children Act.
- Commitment to promoting the welfare, rights, and voice of children and young people, and ensuring their views and wishes are central to decision-making processes.
