🔍 About the Role:
As part of the Duty and Assessment Team, you'll be the first point of contact for new referrals where there are concerns for a child's safety or welfare. You'll carry out robust assessments, manage risk, and determine the most appropriate interventions to safeguard and support families from day one.
âś… Responsibilities Include:
Responding to referrals and undertaking Child and Family Assessments
Completing Section 47 enquiries and strategy discussions
Making threshold decisions and planning next steps
Working closely with children, families, schools, health, and partner agencies
Ensuring all work is timely, child-focused, and compliant with statutory guidance
🎓 Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Proven experience in child protection and frontline assessment work
Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures
Able to work well under pressure and manage a fast-moving caseload
