Team: Children's Social Worker - Long Term Team

Gateshead Council's Long Term Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to safeguarding children and providing high-quality, ongoing support to families facing complex challenges.
About the Role and Responsibilities:
... - Providing Ongoing Support: Manage cases for children who are subject to long-term child protection plans, offering consistent support and intervention to address their needs and ensure their safety.
- Working Collaboratively with Families: Work closely with families to develop and implement care plans, support parents to address their challenges, and provide ongoing guidance to the child.
- Regular Reviews and Monitoring: Conduct regular reviews of the child's situation, including assessments and meetings with families and other professionals, to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Multi-Agency Coordination: Liaise with other agencies, such as education, health, and youth justice services, to ensure the child receives the necessary support.
- Advocating for Children: Represent the needs of children and families, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and services.
- Transition Planning: Support children as they transition to adulthood, ensuring they have access to appropriate services and supports to help them live independently.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check.
- Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly with children subject to child protection plans.
- Experience in long-term case management and supporting families through challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
- Commitment to child-centered practice and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
