About Us: Our special school in Leyland is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children with a variety of learning needs. With small class sizes of under 10 pupils, we ensure each child receives the individual attention they deserve. Role Overview: As a Class Teacher, you will be flexible in working across various year groups within Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2). You will be responsible for planning and delivering learning experiences that are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our pupils. Your experience with SEN pupils will be crucial in providing the support and strategies required for their success. You will be part of a supportive team, working collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and individualised lessons for pupils across KS1 and KS2.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of SEN pupils.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff members to support pupil learning and development.
- Assess pupil progress and provide regular feedback to parents and guardians.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure they are followed.
- Participate in school activities and contribute to the overall positive ethos of the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with SEN pupils with a range of needs.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons that are well-matched to individual needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Adaptability and a positive attitude towards working in a dynamic school environment.
- Knowledge of current SEN best practices and strategies.
