Are you an experienced Commercial Manager seeking a leadership role within a prominent large contractor in the water industry? Our client, a leading contractor known for delivering exceptional infrastructure projects, is looking for a dynamic Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and commercial aspects of critical water infrastructure projects within the Severn Trent region.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of water infrastructure projects, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports for projects.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks, implementing effective solutions to protect project profitability.
- Oversee procurement strategies and ensure value for money is achieved across all project activities.
- Lead and mentor the commercial team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Manage change control processes, including assessing and negotiating variations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Engage regularly with clients and stakeholders to provide commercial updates and address queries.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the water sector or related infrastructure industries.
- Strong knowledge of commercial management practices, including contract law, risk management, and cost control.
- Demonstrable expertise in managing NEC contracts (or similar forms of contract).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage teams and engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.
- A degree or professional qualification in quantity surveying, commercial management, or a related discipline (e.g., RICS, MRICS).
- Familiarity with the Severn Trent Framework or similar utility frameworks is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to resolving financial and contractual challenges.
