About the Role:
Randstad are working with Cardiff Children's Services seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our dynamic Court Team. In this pivotal role, you will work with children and families involved in legal proceedings, ensuring that the best interests of the child are represented. This is an exciting opportunity for a social worker with strong court experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Court Reports and Assessments: Prepare detailed, evidence-based court reports and assessments, including Section 7 and Section 47 reports, ensuring that the child's welfare is the primary focus.
- Court Representation: Attend court hearings, give evidence, and provide expert testimony to inform judicial decisions regarding care orders, adoption, and other child protection matters.
- Care Planning: Develop and implement clear care plans in collaboration with children, families, and multi-disciplinary professionals, ensuring the safety and well-being of the child throughout the court process.
- Multi-Agency Working: Work closely with legal teams, family court professionals, guardians, and other agencies to provide a coordinated and child-centered approach to legal proceedings.
- Safeguarding: Actively promote and safeguard the welfare of children, identifying risks and taking appropriate action to protect children from harm in line with Cardiff's safeguarding policies.
- Family Support and Advocacy: Provide advice and support to children and families, advocating for the child's best interests throughout the legal process.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of court proceedings, assessments, and care plans in line with statutory and local authority guidelines.
- Post-Court Support: Ensure that children and families receive ongoing support after legal proceedings, helping them transition into new care arrangements or plans as required.
About You:
- Qualifications: A degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and current registration with Social Care Wales.
- Experience: Proven experience working in children's social care, with substantial experience handling court cases, legal proceedings, and child protection issues.
