About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our secondary school in Sheffield. This permanent position offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time hours, with an immediate start. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of students' learning by providing classroom support in the absence of teaching staff. You will have the opportunity to manage classrooms across a wide range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged, on task, and supported in their learning. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in education while continuing to develop their skills.

Pay scale: £25,584 to £27,711 per annum
Essential Requirements
... - Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting
- Training or experience in relevant learning strategies
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students and staff
- Calm under pressure with the ability to manage challenging situations
- Ability to deliver pre-prepared lessons and follow instructions effectively

Responsibilities
- Provide structured cover for lessons in the absence of a teacher
- Deliver pre-prepared study programs, following the lesson plan and curriculum guidelines
- Supervise students during lessons, ensuring they stay on task and engaged
- Monitor and record student progress during learning activities
- Offer support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) as needed
- Encourage and promote positive behaviour, following the school's behaviour policies
- Provide feedback to teaching staff about student performance and behaviour
- Help students remain focused and motivated, promoting self-reliance
- Ensure all safeguarding protocols are followed to protect students
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued
