About the Role
Are you ready to inspire and support students with special educational needs? We're looking for a Learning Mentor to join our inclusive school community in Berkeley. In this rewarding, full-time position, you'll work closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning challenges, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and thrive in a supportive environment.
Your Impact
As a Learning Mentor, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a positive and nurturing learning experience. Working alongside a collaborative team of educators, you'll provide tailored support, adapt classroom activities, and contribute to each student's unique learning journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Student Engagement: Offer individualised and small-group support to SEN students, ensuring they can engage fully in classroom activities.
- Personalised Learning Support: Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt tasks to create an inclusive, accessible learning environment.
- Behavioural and Emotional Guidance: Help foster positive behaviours and a supportive atmosphere where each student feels valued.
- Progress and Communication: Track student growth, sharing observations with teachers and parents to continually shape effective learning strategies.
About You
- Experience: Prior experience working with SEN students is a plus, but we also welcome individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in education.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a compassionate, patient approach to helping students succeed.
- Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English proficiency is preferred.
