Harrow Hong Kong Children School Shenzhen Qianhai (HHKCS)
This school benefits from a truly 21st Century purpose-built campus in Qianhai, Shenzhen, where technology and a cutting-edge approach to teaching and learning provides students with every opportunity to excel, both within and beyond the classroom. Drawing on the significant resources in the Greater Bay Area, the school aims to become an educational hub focusing on STEAM, innovation, and the nurturing of bi-literate, trilingual, students (Cantonese, Mandarin, and English) who will go on to attend the world's very best universities. The school opened in 2023 and caters to the children of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents and expatriates aged 2 to 18. The school delivers a Hong Kong curriculum leading to HKDSE and IBDP and Senior secondary level.

Shenzhen is the youngest first tier city in China where the average age of the population is under thirty. Rated as the best air quality of all first tier cities in China, Shenzhen itself is a wonderful planned city filled with Plants and shrubbery on the coast in the warmer southern climbs of China. * The Deputy Head (Enrichment) will demonstrate inspirational senior leadership with the vision, presence and communication skills to develop and enhance the holistic education provision for which Harrow is renowned.
* The role has a whole school brief and will be responsible for the overall implementation, management, and ongoing enhancement of the school's Enrichment offer. This includes developing and improving the School community's Harrow identity, implementing the Harrow Diploma in coordination with the University Guidance Team across academic, pastoral and enrichment strands, Cross-curricular Expeditions (including performing arts and sports), Co-curricular and Super-curricular Activities, Student Leadership and Services. Furthermore, the Deputy Head (Enrichment) will give priority to the communication and promotion of the enrichment offer in the marketing context and oversee the organisation and exemplary delivery of key whole school events, manage the Whole School Calendar
* The postholder will show initiative, drive, competence in linking vision to inter-connected practicalities, and financial awareness for budgeting, staffing and professional development matters, promoting active engagement in the various programmes for all students and staff. The postholder will also have the stamina, relevant applicable knowledge and interpersonal skills to command the respect of a wide range of stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds, and the empathy, sensitivity and humility to engage broadly with a team of staff who will all play a vital role in advancing a widely enriched school life.
* As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Deputy Head (Enrichment) plays a full role in the strategic direction of the school, developing, personifying, and ensuring a whole school ethos which promotes the Harrow values and leadership attributes - and, specifically, a life of leadership and service - for all students, staff, governors, parents and the local community.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fully qualified with an appropriate education degree, or a Bachelor's degree and a UK PGCE, and QTS (or internationally recognised high-quality equivalents)
- Specific qualifications in outdoor education, coaching, music or sporting disciplines appropriate to the school would be advantageous.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 10 years' teaching experience and appropriate familiarity with holistic education and the types of broad enrichment programmes typical of UK independent boarding schools.
- Experience with outward bound education and/or mountain-based schools would be an advantage.
COMMITMENT TO TEACHING:
- All Harrow schools are academically rigorous. All staff need to be comfortable guiding highly able students, supporting their progress to the world's best universities.
- The Deputy Head (Enrichment) will be expected to teach academic classes (at a teaching load comparable with other Deputy Heads).

Salary and Benefits Package
The remuneration package is very generous and includes the following;

- An annual bonus of 10% of salary, subject to appraisal

- Return Airfare and baggage allowances for teacher and dependents
- 100% remission on tuition fees for up to two (2) dependent children attending the School. 50% remission on tuition fees for 3rd dependent child onward.
