Randstad is partnering with a leading company in the UK water sector to recruit an EICA Design Engineer. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support engineering design activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions for water treatment and engineering projects.
The Role
You will work directly with the Regional Discipline Lead, coordinating and producing engineering designs and documents to minimise risk and maximise profit. Your focus will be on producing practical, effective plant layouts, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You will also support other departments by providing feedback and estimates to assist with proposals and business development.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Producing cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are practical for construction and commissioning.
- Ensuring standard practices are followed to maintain high-quality engineering outputs.
- Estimating costs and providing feedback to the proposals department.
- Contributing to the development and refinement of department procedures and processes.
- Coordinating designs across various disciplines to ensure the seamless execution of contracts.
- Ensuring designs are environmentally conscious and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Working within a customer-focused culture to satisfy internal and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a talented EICA Engineer with a strong background in water industry projects and engineering design. The successful candidate will have:
Essential:
- Experience in the technical delivery of process plant systems for water industry projects.
- A good understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.
- A minimum of an HND in a relevant engineering discipline (Degree preferred).
- The ability to rationalise designs and produce practical, cost-effective plant layouts.
- Strong technical proposal writing skills.
- C&G BS 7671 / IET Electrical Regulations 18th Edition.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in design software.
Preferred:
- Experience with selecting and specifying instrumentation, industrial communications, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Experience with motor control centres, protection systems, and harmonic mitigation methods.
