- Pay Rate: £31650 - £49084 (+9782) MPS/UPS + TLR 1
Essential Requirements
- Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Demonstrate substantial leadership experience within a secondary school setting.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

- Knowledge of the latest developments in English teaching and learning.
- Confidence in using educational technology to enhance learning.
- Experience delivering whole-school literacy initiatives.
- The ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Show commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
- Be an outstanding practitioner with a deep understanding of English curriculum
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an ambitious English curriculum that inspires students of all abilities.
- Lead the English department to deliver consistently high-quality teaching and learning.
- Establish clear strategies to improve student outcomes in English at KS3 and KS4.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching practices to ensure excellent standards.
- Support and mentor staff within the English faculty to improve their professional practice.
- Ensure the consistent delivery of engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and creativity.
- Provide clear and supportive feedback to staff to foster development.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of student data to inform teaching strategies.
- Organise and oversee external assessments and examinations in English.
- Foster strong relationships with external agencies and partners to enhance learning opportunities.
