Randstad are supporting a Bradford based client to support the recruitment of a temporary qualified Social Worker for thier Duty & Assessment team within childrens services.
You must be a fully qualified social worker for this role with previous post qualified experience working within a childrens services role and preferably experience working within a duty and assessment team.
Key Responsibilities:
... Initial Assessment:
- Conduct thorough and timely assessments of children referred to the service.
- Gather comprehensive information from children, families, and other professionals to evaluate risk and needs.
- Determine the level of intervention required and make informed decisions regarding the child's safety and welfare.
Crisis Intervention:
- Provide immediate, effective responses to emergency situations involving children at risk.
- Develop and implement safety plans in collaboration with families and other agencies.
- Work closely with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders during crises.
Case Management:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Develop and coordinate short-term plans for children and families in need of urgent support.
- Ensure that services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with legal and policy requirements.
Collaboration:
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to child protection.
- Participate in case conferences, strategy meetings, and professional networks to share insights and best practices.
- Foster strong working relationships with community organisations, schools, and healthcare providers.
Advocacy:
- Advocate for the rights and needs of children and families within the child protection system.
- Provide guidance and support to families to help them access necessary resources and services.
- Promote the voice of the child in all decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Fully Qualified Social Worker within the UK
Registrations:
- Registered with Social Work England
Experience:
- Previous experience in child protection, duty and assessment, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and crisis intervention skills.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage high-stress situations.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to child welfare.
Minimum Requirements:
-SWE Registration
-2 year post qualifying experience within UK
