We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias for our client, on a hospital contract. This is a static role, meaning you will work exclusively at this location, ensuring the ongoing maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical and fabric systems within the hospital's facilities. The role is shift-based, offering a great work-life balance with a rotating schedule: 2 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off, and 3 days on, 2 days off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems, including lighting, HVAC, and power distribution.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, adhering to hospital standards and guidelines.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and faults, providing quick and effective solutions.
- Undertake regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential issues.
- Work closely with the hospital's facilities team to support day-to-day operations and ensure minimal disruption to critical services.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reports for maintenance tasks, including risk assessments and service records.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations, City & Guilds 2360, NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled engineering role, with a solid electrical background.
- Experience of working in a building maintenance role, ideally within a healthcare or similar critical environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role - general maintenance & mechanical.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS).
