Salary: £31,350 - £46,179 per year (M1 - UPS2 Fringe) with a £5,000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teachers*

An SEN School in Caterham is on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their vibrant team. You'll have the opportunity to deliver high-quality education to students aged 11 - 16 who face communication and social interaction challenges, often related to Autism.
As part of a large academy group and linked to a nearby sister school, this institution offers a unique and supportive environment. Each site operates with its own dedicated Assistant Head, teachers, and TAs, while both share the same Principal and Head of School. The school boasts a full on-site therapy team and fosters strong collaboration between the two locations.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and develop a curriculum that meets the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
- Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Plan and implement short, medium, and long-term lesson plans.
- Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets.
- Assess and report on student progress to parents, team members, senior staff, and relevant bodies.
- Reflect on and develop lesson plans to enhance educational outcomes.
- Contribute to the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
- Structure lessons to maintain engagement, motivation, and challenge.
- Stay informed about current issues in autism to plan effective teaching strategies.
- Address individual needs with a non-confrontational approach.
Requirements:
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Ability to teach English up to GCSE level.
- Experience working with pupils with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles.
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Experience managing a range of behavioural approaches, including challenging behaviours.
