The Role :
We are looking for an enthusiastic KS3 - KS4 English Teacher to work at our partnered Secondary Schools based in Ipswich and surrounding areas. Your main responsibility will be to develop engaging and structured lesson plans tailored to the specific needs of students. You will teach core language skills including reading, writing, listening, and speaking and also focusing on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and functional language use. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and creative English lessons that cover literature, language and effective communication skills.
- Foster an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where students feel confident to explore and discuss a wide range of texts.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking skills and respond personally and analytically to literature.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the English curriculum.
- Inspire students to develop a love of reading and a deeper understanding of language that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required for this position.
- A relevant degree in English, Literature or a related field.
- Excellent classroom management.
- Experience as an English Teacher at KS3 - KS4 level.
- Strong knowledge of English literature, language and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
