Role: Environmental Health Services Manager (Temporary, 12 Weeks)
Location: Campus East Office, WGC - AL8 7PH
Join our dedicated Public Realm Team and become a key player in protecting the health and safety of our community! We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team on a temporary basis for 12 weeks. About the Role:
As an Environmental Health Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team of Environmental Health Officers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that protect public health and well-being. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and motivating a team of Environmental Health Officers, ensuring effective performance and achieving team goals.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on a range of environmental health issues, including food hygiene, occupational health and safety, pollution control, and public health.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve public health outcomes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Managing a demanding workload with conflicting priorities, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Preparing and presenting credible evidence at court, tribunals, or committees.
- Identifying, assessing, quantifying, and managing food safety, occupational safety, environmental, and public health risks.
What We Offer:
- Competitive hourly rate: £30.22 - £34.95 per hour (equivalent to £58,308 - £67,431 per annum)

Essential Requirements:
- Diploma in Environmental Health or approved Degree in Environmental Health and Certificate of Registration from the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board or equivalent.
- To be a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner.
- Substantial experience in one or more specialisms in Environmental Health.
- Substantial experience of leading services at a managerial level.
- High level of knowledge and understanding of relevant service legislation and good practice.
