Estimator required to join a building contractor based near Newbury.
The company turnover £25 to £30 million across the industrial, commercial, education, local authority and bespoke residential marketplaces. Project values range from £750k to £5 million and and is procured through framework opportunties, negotiated repeat business with local authorities and developers and targetted single stage bids.
There is an existing bid team and Senior Estimator in place but due to an increase in opportunties and planned growth there is an opportunity to join an established and successful team with excellent client relationships in place and an engaged and trusted supply chain many of whom have worked with the business over 10 years.
The role is to work within the bid team to identify new opportunties, fully assess and validate new tender opportunities and agree a strategic plan on each project identified. Produce tender documentation, scope of works and bills, send out enquiries to subcontractors, chase enquiries and deal with any technical questions raised during the process. Assess each package and then compile and produce tender package for presentation to client all within agreed deadlines and timescales. You will manage the supply chain relationships, evaluate and audit performace, identify and interview new companies and specialist advisors. Work with the commercial teams to market test prices and cost fluctuations.
The role would ideally suit an estimator looking for a reals hands on role where your input and experience will be welcomed or an assistant looking to make the step up to estimator and take full control of your own projects.
