Job role: Family Support Worker
Location: Ty Seren, Mount Earl, Bridgend
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
Hours: Fulltime, flexible shift patterns including days, nights, and weekends
A Family Assessment Unit is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join their team in collaboration with Randstad. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting families within our service, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support families in line with their assessed needs, under the guidance of the Shift Coordinator and Multi-Disciplinary Team.
- Assist parents in meeting their children's developmental needs, fostering independent living skills and parenting capabilities.
- Build positive relationships with families, ensuring their voices and choices are respected and represented.
- Maintain accurate records of family interactions and observations.
- Report safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in working with vulnerable adults and/or children in the UK OR relevant health and social care qualification.
- Flexibility to work shifts starting at 7am & 7pm, including weekends.
- Willingness to work towards QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent.
- Ability to perform core domestic skills and support activities of daily living.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Understanding of Social Care Wales Code of Professional Practice.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative when required.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Driving ability and proficiency.
