Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our dynamic Fieldwork - Children and Families Team. We are committed to providing high-quality support and protection to vulnerable children and families within our community.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to our services, identifying their needs and risks.
- Developing and implementing individualised care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families.
- Working collaboratively with parents, carers, children, other professionals, and agencies to deliver effective and timely interventions.
- Engaging with families, building trust and rapport to support positive change.
- Providing support and guidance to families, helping them overcome challenges and build resilience.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Advocating for the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
- Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check.
- Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Commitment to child-centered practice and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
