The business specialises in the management of blocks of flats and offers other related services such as insurance broking, lettings management, surveying, company secretarial and the provision of concierge staff. We also administer the employment (payroll and HR support) for a further 150-200 staff employed directly by our clients.

Headquartered in Richmond the group operates from 24 locations across England. The highest concentration of staff is in the South East of England.
Role Purpose
The Health & Safety Inspector will be responsible for carrying out detailed inspections and compiling risk assessment reports on the health and safety and fire safety across the HML Group and B-hive Property Partners portfolio.
Main duties and responsibilities
To produce Health & Safety and Fire Risk Assessment Reports for the HML Group, B-hive Property Partners and external clients, in accordance with current legislation.
... - To visit premises and undertake H&S and Fire Risk Assessments of a variety of properties
- To conduct accident/incident investigations and produce remedial reports further to an incident on site relating to a potential H&S claim.
- Meet with clients/RMC Directors to explain their obligations and requirements and what they may need to do to comply with relevant legislation.
- Using resources and facilities made available, conduct training sessions on topics within skillset.
- To advise Property Managers further to any queries that arise from the content of the reports produced.
- Provide technical advice to Property Managers/colleagues within HML Group or B-hive Property Partners.
- To ensure that knowledge of current legislation is kept to date to ensure that reports are in keeping with any changes.
- To help liaise with Fire/Enforcement Officers in on any inspections carried out by the Local Fire Authority or Enforcement Notices sent.
- To maintain CPD and professional knowledge to an excellent standard
This role requires the employee to be familiar with all current H&S and Fire Safety legislation that is relevant to the properties that are managed by HML. Experience in the completion of Health & Safety and Fire Risk Assessments reports is essential with relevant qualifications (i.e. NEBOSH, IOSH, FPA etc.) preferred.
The employee will be required to ensure that they keep up to date with any changes in legislation and will be expected to attend training courses to ensure that they continually expand their knowledge.
It will also be necessary for the employee to advise and guide Property Managers on the recommendations that they have detailed within their reports and if required liaise with Company Directors in response to any queries they may have upon receipt of the report.
The role consists of carrying out reports for blocks managed by the whole HML Group which will comprise of travel nationwide. It is likely that 1 day a week the Inspector will need to be office based but for the remaining 4 days the candidate will be out on site completing the reports.

- Strong organisational skills and ability to react to suit operational support requirements, must be able to organise time effectively and prioritise tasks to cope with fluctuating workloads.
- High level of accuracy in checking & processing information
- Ability to form good relationships with colleagues and clients
- Broad understanding of Property Management/Leasehold Management
- Able to work on own initiative, make effective decisions and as also work as part of a team
