We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History and Citizenship Teacher to deliver high-quality learning to GCSE level starting from September 2025 within a dynamic and supportive specialist school environment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification
- Eligible to work in the UK without any SPONSORSHIP
- Possess an Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to get on through Randstad
- Strong subject expertise in History and Citizenship, up to GCSE standard
- Proven experience teaching students with SEND needs (essential)
- Ability to differentiate and personalise teaching to suit a range of needs and abilities
- Excellent behaviour management skills, underpinned by a trauma-informed approach
- A commitment to high expectations, even when learners have faced educational barriers
- Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and rigorous lessons across History and Citizenship curricula
- Inspire critical thinking, discussion, and curiosity in the classroom
- Prepare students for GCSE and alternative accredited qualifications
- Use creative strategies to help students connect historical knowledge with real-world citizenship skills
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt interventions to ensure maximum success
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to create an inclusive, respectful, and motivating learning environment
- Play an active role in supporting the personal development of each student
