Role Overview
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will provide targeted support to students, leading small groups and occasionally stepping in to cover lessons. In this role, you'll play a vital part in promoting independent learning, enhancing engagement, and working closely with teachers to support personalised learning plans. This is a rewarding position where you'll help create a positive, structured environment that allows students to flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Support: Assist individual and small groups of students, adapting resources to meet their unique learning needs.
- Lesson Leading: Support curriculum delivery by leading sessions and occasionally covering full lessons as required.
- Collaboration & Planning: Work with teachers to develop lessons and activities that align with individual learning goals.
- Progress Reporting: Track student progress and provide detailed feedback to the teaching team, supporting students' academic and social development.
- Positive Environment: Help cultivate an inclusive, engaging classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and encouraged.
Who We're Looking For
- Experienced in Education Support: Background as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA, ideally within an SEN setting.
- Education Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development and curriculum adaptation for diverse learners.
- Compassionate & Resilient: Empathy and patience with a commitment to helping students achieve their best.
- Effective Communicator: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and families effectively.
- Qualified HLTA: HLTA status or equivalent is preferred, though comparable experience will also be considered.
