We are seeking a dedicated Inclusion Support Worker to join our team in a secondary school in Wakefield. This full-time role involves working closely with SEN students in the classroom, providing the tailored support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Requirements:
- Experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
Responsibilities:
- Work one-to-one or with small groups of SEN students to support their learning in a classroom setting.
- Assist teachers in planning and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Provide encouragement and build the self-esteem of students by creating a supportive learning environment.
- Help manage behaviour and promote positive interactions among students.
- Actively collaborate with the SENCo and teaching staff to assess student progress and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Support the inclusion of all students in the school community, ensuring they feel valued and respected.
