Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of those affected by domestic abuse? We are seeking a dedicated Locum Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to provide support and advocacy for individuals experiencing domestic abuse, based in the Manchester area.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct first response contact with citizens, assessing risk using the DASH Risk Indicator Checklist (RIC) and information from initial referrals.
- Develop informed safety plans and implement safeguarding actions.
- Provide onward referrals and signposting to appropriate support services.
- Develop tailored safety plans, considering housing and refuge options, legal remedies, and target hardening measures.
- Deliver immediate and effective support to those in crisis.
- Provide expert guidance on reporting options and legal protections.
- Represent victims at Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) as required.
- Establish and maintain robust internal and external pathways for support.
- Work closely with the IDVA team, medium-risk IDVAs, statutory services, and community outreach organisations (e.g., Women's Aid, LGBTQ+ support, SARC, ISVA, and other specialist services).
To be considered for the IDVA role, ideally you will have:
- Experience working with survivors of domestic abuse.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment (DASH RIC), and multi-agency working.
- Ability to work under pressure in a crisis-led environment.
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and organisational skills.
- Understanding of legal frameworks, housing options, and available support services.
