If so, Randstad are recruiting for an Independent Reviewing Officer to join the Wakefield Council - Child Protection Chair Team. This is a full-time role offering Up to £37/hr

Overview:
- Chairing Child Protection Conferences: Leading multi-agency meetings to review and assess the safety and welfare of children subject to child protection plans, ensuring that decisions are child-focused and legally compliant.
- Looked After Children (LAC) Reviews: Ensuring that reviews for children in care are held regularly, in line with statutory requirements, and that their care plans are effective, timely, and reviewed appropriately.
- Independent Monitoring: Reviewing and monitoring the effectiveness of child protection plans, advocating for the child's best interests and escalating concerns where necessary.
- Challenge and Accountability: Holding professionals and agencies to account for the progress and outcomes of plans, ensuring that action is taken to address any delays or concerns.
- Collaborative Working: Building effective relationships with a wide range of professionals, including social workers, legal teams, health professionals, and education providers, to ensure comprehensive, joined-up support for children and families.
- Reports and Documentation: Providing clear, accurate reports and feedback following reviews and conferences, ensuring that decisions are well-documented and communicated to all involved parties.
- Advisory Role: Supporting colleagues in understanding and adhering to statutory requirements, offering advice and guidance on best practice and policies in child protection.
Requirements:
- Social Work England registered
- Social Work Degree or equivalent
- Enhanced DBS
Experience:
- Children's Social worker
