Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, ensuring individual learning needs are met
- Assist in classroom management, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Help prepare lesson materials and resources to enhance student engagement
- Support pupils with SEN, adapting learning activities to suit different abilities
- Foster confidence, independence, and a love for learning among students
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to track and support pupil progress
- Supervise pupils during break times and assist with extracurricular activities when required
Requirements
- Experience working as a teaching assistant in a KS2 setting
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent qualification)
- Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and classroom support strategies
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and encourage their development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers and support staff
- A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning in a dynamic classroom
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
