Lead AWS DevOps Engineer - Contract - Bristol/Hybrid - £450pd (inside IR35)
My client a leader in their field are seeking an experienced Hybrid Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. You will play a key role as a technology lead for Kubernetes within our on-premise data centres. As part of the DevOps team, you will lead automation initiatives across our hybrid cloud environments, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build infrastructure to ensure efficient continuous updates and CI/CD pipelines.
Act as the technical lead for Kubernetes and automation technologies, providing guidance and support to other IT teams.
Lead automation efforts to achieve a fully automated, hands-off data centre environment.
Provide strategic technical leadership to align automation and Kubernetes initiatives with business objectives.
Integrate infrastructure management processes with DevSecOps technologies.
Act as an escalation point for incidents, major incidents, and problem management.
Manage and optimize monitoring and alerting services.
Develop and maintain technical documentation including standards, policies, and processes.
Mentor and coach junior team members.
Drive process improvements and manage technical priorities effectively.
Skills and Experience Required:
Expert level experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
Linux Administration experience, preferably with CentOS or RedHat.
Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies and supporting tools.
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible.
Experience using CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
AWS workload management experience (certifications are a plus).
Strong scripting/coding skills in Python or Ruby.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Experience in managing mission-critical platforms.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders.
