We're seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Learning Officer to join our Museum Service team, developing and delivering engaging learning programs at our fascinating historical sites: The Watermill in Hatfield and the Roman Baths in Welwyn.
Your responsibilities will include delivering school workshops at The Watermill, Hatfield, and Roman Baths, Welwyn, as well as family activities at both locations during school holidays. Additionally, you will support the administration, staffing, and marketing of these activities to local schools and the community to ensure they are cost-effective and generate income for the museum service.

Pay Rate: £16.51 ph
Job Type: Full time, 37 hours per week
In this rewarding role, you will:
- Bring History to Life: Develop and deliver engaging workshops for school groups (primarily Key Stage 1 and 2) and families, fostering a love of learning and inspiring a deeper understanding of our local history.
- Manage Educational Programs: Organize and facilitate school and group visits, handle bookings, and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Expand Our Reach: Market and promote our learning programs through creative initiatives, utilizing social media, building relationships with schools, and developing outreach opportunities.
- Foster Accessibility and Inclusivity: Review and implement our Access and Learning Policy, ensuring our programs are inclusive and accessible to diverse audiences.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- Essential Qualifications: A good general standard of education, including Maths and English.
- Proven Experience: Significant experience teaching individuals and groups of various ages in both formal and informal settings.
- Budget Management: Experience managing budgets, preparing reports, and securing funding.
- Knowledge of Best Practices: A strong understanding of current teaching methods within museums and educational settings.
- Curriculum Awareness: Familiarity with the National Curriculum and the educational aims of museums.
