About the Role:
Are you dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking enthusiastic and committed SEND Learning Support Assistants to join a team in specialist schools located near Battle in East Sussex. As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you'll be instrumental in providing essential support to students, ensuring they receive the guidance and assistance needed to thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with a variety of SEND, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored support strategies for each student, collaborating closely with educators, therapists, and other professionals.
- Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive learning environment by fostering positive relationships with students, nurturing their emotional well-being, confidence, and self-esteem.
- Support students during lessons, facilitating their engagement with the curriculum and helping them overcome any obstacles to learning.
- Provide assistance with personal care and mobility requirements, as necessary.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly preferred.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification, or equivalent, would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to connect with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- A patient and empathetic approach, coupled with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and growth of students with SEND.
- Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you'll need to effectively respond to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic educational setting.
