Social Worker - Leeds City Council£37 per hour
Leeds City Council is looking to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and passionate social worker to make a real difference to the lives of children and families.
About the Role:
As a Social Worker, you will manage a complex caseload encompassing Child and Family Assessments, Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child Care Proceedings, ensuring cases progress towards permanence. You will work collaboratively with other social workers, taking on lead worker responsibilities without direct line management duties. The role requires a restorative practice approach, empowering families to make decisions and manage risks effectively. You will demonstrate excellent relational skills, engaging children directly and using child-centred practices.
The successful candidate will possess strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing demands while maintaining high standards of practice and producing high-quality written work. This involves detailed analytical assessment capabilities and a commitment to continuous learning and development within a supportive team environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Significant experience as a Social Worker, ideally within a local authority setting.
- Proven ability to manage a complex caseload effectively.
- Excellent relational skills with children and families.
- Experience using restorative practice approaches.
- High-quality written and analytical skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Clean Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Working Pattern:
37 hours per week, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. The role is primarily office-based, but hybrid working is negotiable depending on team needs. This is likely to involve office-based work on duty weeks and one work-from-home day/compressed hours on non-duty weeks.
