I am representing my client in the legal industry, who is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is a permanent position offering a rewarding opportunity to provide vital support to the Finance Manager and assist in the efficient running of financial services.
About the Role
As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the operation of the firm's accounting system.
- Conducting daily banking and managing reconciliations to ensure timely completion.
- Processing postings on accounts and case management systems.
- Raising private client and Legal Aid invoices, including assisting with monthly billing submissions.
- Handling client-to-office transfers and executing telegraphic transfers.
- Managing purchase invoices and assisting clients with card payments.
- Ensuring closed accounts are authorised and balanced before archiving.
- Supporting credit control operations and updating financial reports in Excel.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 1 year of practical accounting experience.
- A working knowledge of accounting principles; familiarity with Solicitors Accounts Rules is a plus.
- Experience in purchase and sales ledger management, reconciliation, and financial systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (medium-level skills required).
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
