As a Loading Bay Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse loading process.
This role will be ideal for a person who can work within a team, you will adhere to site safety standards and procedures while maintaining high levels of housekeeping in the warehouse and loading bays.
Role - Loading Bay Assistant
Location: DS Smith Packaging, Kemsley Mill, Sittingbourne, ME10 2TD
Pay Rate:
- Day Shift (Monday to Friday, 05:30-17:30): £11.92 per hour, OT 1.5 days hourly
- Night Shift (Monday to Thursday, 17:30-05:30 & Sunday 22:00-05:30): £13.04 per hour, OT 1.5 nights hourly, Sunday OT Night Rate: Double time
- Clamp Work: £16 per hour (applicable only if working on the clamp)
Shift Pattern (Rotating):
- Two weeks Day Shift: Monday to Friday (05:30-17:30)
- One week Night Shift: Monday to Thursday (17:30-05:30)
- One week Night Shift: Sunday (22:00-05:30), Monday to Thursday (17:30-05:30)

Breaks: 30 minutes (unpaid)
Start Date: 17th March 2025 (subject to interview and onboarding completion)
Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles before loading to ensure they meet requirements
- Secure reels to trailers using floor-to-floor ratchet straps
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the warehouse and loading bays
- Adhere to all site rules and safety procedures
- Undertake full training provided by the company
Essential Requirements:
- A team player with strong communication skills
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible
- Willing to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to challenge and be challenged
- Previous warehouse experience (preferred but not essential)
- Driving license (preferred due to shift times but not essential)
