Newcastle City Council's Long Term Child Protection Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to safeguarding children and providing high-quality support to families facing complex challenges.
About the Role and Responsibilities:
... - Protecting Vulnerable Children: Work as part of a dedicated team to provide intensive support and interventions to children subject to Child Protection Plans, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collaborative Practice: Collaborate with families, children, and other agencies to deliver effective and timely interventions, building trust and rapport to support positive change.
- Developing and Implementing Care Plans: Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks. Develop and implement individualised care plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children under Child Protection Plans.
- Leading Safeguarding Practices: Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Participate in multi-agency meetings and working groups to ensure coordinated support for children and families.
- Providing Expertise: Offer information, advice, and support to other professionals on safeguarding issues.
- Maintaining Documentation and Standards: Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Contributing to Team Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of team services to ensure high-quality support for children and families.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check.
- Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly in a child protection setting.
- Experience working with children subject to Child Protection Plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
- Commitment to child-centered practice and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
